“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.”

Recap

Hey y’all! In all honesty, I was having trouble getting excited to do ministry in the city of Portland. I did not know much about this city coming in. However, as soon as I stepped into the city, I knew this place desperately needed the love of Jesus to break in.

There are security guards on every street corner, criminals running rampant, drugs everywhere, and danger all around. BUT there is no place too dark for the love of God to break through! Can I get an AMEN?!?

While I was spending time with the Lord preparing for ministry this week, God gave me a picture of myself wearing a white dress and running through the streets of Portland waving a white flag through the air. This picture was marked with joy and peace and I knew the Lord was calling me to a fresh and deeper surrender this week.

Even though this was one of the most challenging weeks of tour, the Lord definitely showed up this week! Keep reading to see a glimpse of the many things God did this week!

Things to Praise God for

• 33 people accepted God’s gift of salvation and 1 person rededicated their life to Christ

• 8 people were physically healed by the power of God

• 4 people experienced deliverance from oppressive spirits and were filled with the Holy Spirit

• 211 gospel seeds were planted

Testimonies!!

Testimony from Sarah V:

On the second day of evangelism in downtown Portland, both my friend Joy and I had heard the Lord tell us to go to a tattoo shop. The Lord had been speaking about getting a specific tattoo of a butterfly, so we prayed and decided to go to a shop called Sacred Tattoo! The tattoo artists name was Israel and he explained how he was raised Catholic, but didn’t go to church or do much other than pray before bed because he had a very demonic experience with religion. After an hour and a half of talking with him about his story and the Lord prompting conversation about who He is, Israel seemed curious abut the Holy Spirit and how Jesus had the ability to bring freedom from anxiety, depression, and darkness in general. He had grown up in gangs, been overcome with rage and anger, and said that his past “haunted” him all the time.

He asked us to come back the next day to pray when he had more time! So that next day we spent another few hours with him praying for freedom over the things he opened up about, and he ended up rededicating his life to the Lord! We are believing for greater freedom in his life, but are confident the Lord was doing so much in his heart! After all this, we realized that butterfly’s represent freedom, and we get to look back at this moment knowing the Lord’s intentionality in Israel’s life for freedom!

Testimony #2… let’s gooo!

Manny, Sophie and I walked past a women on the street and instantly knew we needed to stop. We asked if she needed prayer and she shared she was experiencing intense back and hip pain. We started praying for healing and suddenly she started manifesting a demon. The Holy Spirit gave us discernment and we asked if she wanted freedom. She said yes and so we started praying for deliverance. We prayed together for 50 minutes. While we were praying, we renounced the demons that were oppressing her, walked her through repentance, received the cleansing blood of Christ and prayed to replaced the enemy with the Holy Spirit and truths from God’s word. It was my first time walking someone through deliverance and it was wild, but the Holy Spirit was leading us the whole time and in the end she walked away free and filled with joy! The crazy part was that she had been involved in church for 30 years, but no one had ever taken time to pray with her!! The church needs to rise up and love our neighbors!
